1. There is no public release yet

The first public version of YGOverlay has not been released. When it is, this page will list the version number, the installer file, the matching SHA-256 hash and the publication date. Until then, nothing is distributed from any other address.

If you want to be told when it opens, look at the plans on the home page: when you start a purchase, you can leave your email address to get priority. We do not send the installer by email or by private message.

2. Current version

The fields below are filled in at the first release:

3. The official address

The only official download address is ygoverlay.com/download. It appears in the site footer, in support messages and in the email sent after purchase.

Files offered as YGOverlay anywhere else, including groups, forums and download sites, do not come from us and carry none of our verification. Do not install them.

4. How to check the SHA-256

We publish the SHA-256 hash of every version so you can verify that the file you downloaded is exactly the one we published. To check it on Windows:

• a)Open PowerShell in the folder where the installer was saved.
• b)Run the Get-FileHash command, passing the file name and the SHA256 algorithm.
• c)Compare the result with the hash published on this page. They must be identical.

If the values do not match, delete the file and download it again from the official address.

5. The Windows SmartScreen warning

The installer does not yet carry a commercial code signing certificate. Because of that, Windows may show a SmartScreen warning when you run it, saying the application is not recognised. The warning reflects the file's lack of accumulated reputation, not a detected threat.

If you decide to continue, check the SHA-256 hash on this page first. In the warning, use "More info" and then "Run anyway". If you would rather not continue, do not install it: that is a legitimate choice and we would rather you made it with full information.

We intend to buy the code signing certificate as soon as revenue covers the cost, which should make the warning less frequent.

6. Downloading grants no right of use

The download is public and requires no purchase, signup or login. Downloading and installing YGOverlay, however, grants no right of use: a licence is still required at activation. There is no free version and no trial period.

7. What is not included

YGOverlay does not include, distribute or host ROMs, ISOs, the original game, mods or official assets. You need to own the copy of the game, the emulator and any mods you want to use yourself.

8. Requirements

YGOverlay is compatible with Windows, with versions 1.8.0, 2.0.5 and 2.0.18 of the ePSXe emulator, and with the Forbidden Legacy PC port. Other ePSXe versions, other emulators and other operating systems are not supported.
